Texas announced on Friday that its board of regents had approved a contract extension for volleyball coach Jerritt Elliott.
The decision extends Elliott’s contract to a three-year deal that runs through the 2018 season. Elliott’s base salary was also boosted by $67,500, so he will make $367,500 for the 2016-17 fiscal year. The performance-based incentives in Elliott’s contract were also increased.
Elliott’s extension was announced on the same day that women’s basketball coach Karen Aston received an extension.
“Texas is where I want to be and it is my home,” Elliott said in a statement. “I am thankful and grateful for my administration here at UT for trusting and supporting me to continue to build on the Texas Volleyball program’s success and tradition.”
Elliott is 11 matches into his 16th season at Texas. He has posted a 388-90 record with the Longhorns, and Texas won a NCAA championship in 2012. Texas (9-2) is currently ranked fifth in the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s national poll, and the Longhorns will host No. 8 Kansas on Saturday.
